Oops!

Ok, so I forgot to tell you the funniest part of the whole trip. Trevor and Lori brought their bikes with them and wanted to go for a ride, so I volunteered to watch Savvy. She had been sleeping for about an hour so I decided to go lay on the couch outside the door so I would hear her when she woke up. I feel asleep and faintly heard Savannah babbling to herself. I didn't want to get her until she started yelling for me, so I continued with my napping. But it had been quiet for a few minutes and I knew she couldn't possibly have fallen back asleep, but just in case I quietly opened the door and found Savannah with mascara brush and tube in hand. She was a little worried when she saw me, but I was too late. She had already applied mascara all over her right eye! At least she new the mascara went on her eye, right?!! I couldn't help but laugh and I immediately ran for the camera and the picture to the left shows how I found her when I returned. It was classic. Too bad she is the cutest thing ever, and I couldn't possibly get made so we had a little photo shoot and then proceeded to wash her face as black continually streamed down her face! Loved it!

Distance Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

So Nate and I quickly came back to reality where school, bills, cooking, cleaning, lesson planning, etc. were here to greet us. I am now student teaching in second grade at Deerfield Elementary. I was very lucky because the school is literally three stop signs and two lights away! That is my favorite part. The kids are amazingly smart and by far providing me with my best teaching experience yet. Parents are so involved and expect things out of their children which makes all the difference in the world. Trust me! Anyways, this past weekend I got to go down to St. George for my cousin's wedding and a little Halverson family time, but Nate was left behind to take the LSAT. LSAT, you may ask? Me too...Let's just say he is making sure all doors are open when he's finally done with school...sociology, MPA, law school. Doesn't everyone do that? Continuing on...Trevor and Lori made the trip up and joined me at the Hutchinson's for the weekend. It was so much fun and I got to play auntie which I have been deprived of. The wedding was on Saturday afternoon and reception followed that evening. My parents joined us on Saturday, but only for the day because of dad's busy schedule and mom's new call...can you say presidente? They were suppose to wake up at 4:30am to make it on time for the 1:20pm sealing, but they were apparently experiencing their REM sleep when dad's alarm went off. Needless to say, they greeted us as we came out of the temple. So my parents were in St. George for a total 5 hours and then turned right back around to be there for church Sunday morning. That is what I called dedication. Even though my time with them was limited, it made my trip all worth it. I LOVE THOSE PEOPLE! Throughout the weekend my husband was calling by the hour to remind me he was heading home alone, eating along, driving alone, etc. You get the picture. So after the reception Saturday night I headed out with my parents and decided to get back on the road and home to my husband. It was our first time apart since being married and I have to say, I didn't feel the same. I was glad to get home. But I just have to say...my husband is the greatest! When I arrived home he had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich waiting for me on the table and hanging hearts on every door. I then walked into my bedroom and saw a recreation of what he had done for me for our first Valentine's together. The floor and bed were covered (I mean covered) in rose petals and baloons with a boquet of roses awaiting. I literally teared up because it reminded me of why and when I first fell in love with him. He is the most thoughtful person and lets me live in my movie world. Thanks babe!
