Life and Death in Shanghai

Crazy good! This book is amazing. It made me realize just how little I know about the world around me. I always learned and wanted to know more about the wars in which this country fought and its political differences, but never did I fully digest what other countries and nations have gone through and fought for, or rather what their people have endured. This book is about a woman during the ten year Cultural Revolution in China and all the hardships she faced. She endures it all...wrongful imprisonment, persecution, betrayal, loss of loved ones, etc. but yet she still finds a way to live on and live on well. How lucky we are to live in a country where men are absolutely free in every sense of the word. Go get it!

I agree! I read in awe as she faced EVERY wrong done to her with grace, class, and a drive to be better than her captors! So inspirational!

Absolutely great read! I'm just sad I never sent her a Book of Mormon! Hopefully Marlene's on top of that! What a great woman and how wonderful that she got to finish her life in America! Good work getting through 500 plus pages!
